Two weeks ago we had a baptism!!!!!!! It was awesome!!! but unfortunately, I don't have any photos because I forgot my camera.... how awkward is that. Not really awkward, but yeah. it happened. I think Antonio sent a photo to my facebook, so maybe you could check that?? but yes. Can I tell you, it was one of the craziest baptisms ever.
Satan really didn't want to her to get baptized. It was like with Iris when we didn't have water, but this time it was wow..... so what happened. We got to the church early to start the font and then we had a lesson and everything was perfect. It was a little chilly and cloudy, but that's normal. So about 45 minutes before the baptism started, it POURED. and it was really bad. With lighting and thunder and it was one of the worst that we had all of a sudden. and then it started hailing!!! and the ice was about a half of a golf ball. Everyone started calling us and asking if we were still having the baptism. Of course!!! This is not going to stop us, but then we get a call.... Iris and Estrella and Antonio were stuck in their house without lights. We told them there were lights in the chapel, so they could just come there, but as they were trying to get out, the gate wouldn't open because the power had gone out. and it was only on their side of the apartment complex. Everyone else was fine.
We were all freaking out, but Hermana Rivas suggested that we say a prayer. So we all did together and then the gate opened!!!!!! PRAYERS WORK!!!!!!! :) I felt so strongly that it would happen and it did!!!! whoooooooooooo. Heavenly Father wanted her to be baptized!!!! It was amazing. She was so happy and she felt the Spirit so strong and Antonio got to baptize her :) ahhhhhhhhh
and then we came out teaching with us this past week and she was AMAZING!!!!!! she bore her testimony every time and wow, the spirit was with her. She is absolutely wonderful and she will do so many wonderful things in her life and in the church. Love her so much :) she left to Mexico, but she will stay strong there and keep working hard!!!!
This past week we saw SO MANY MIRACLES!!!!! I really don't understand why we're so blessed. I really don't deserve anything, but Heavenly Father is helping us so much!!!! So we go what's calling Running were we take the new missionaries out running. I went out 2 times and each time I was a little late because we saw miracle after miracle. First of all, we had a lot of people who really wanted to hear about the gospel and the most incredible thing of all. So we waved at some people in a car while we were walking into an apartment complex and we were walking around there talking to people. We were there for like 15 minutes and the person in the car, came around to find us!! She was looking for us for the whole time we were talking to people and then she came and asked us to visit her and she wanted to know about our church!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DO YOU REALIZE HOW ABSOLUTELY AMAZING THAT IS????? THE SPIRIT IS SO STRONG WITH HER!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):) she's super cute and has so much potential. Her name is Johana and I am praying so hard for her. Love her a lot already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I don't know if you can tell, but I am super excited!!!!!)
Then I went out with an English sister and we just started talking to a guy on the street by an apartment complex and since we didn't have a ton of time, I just asked if we could stop by another day to talk to him a little bit more, but he was like why don't you come over right now??? So we went over and taught the whole first lesson. What???? That doesn't happen. So we gave the referral to the English elders and they are going over to teach him.
WHY ARE THERE SO MANY BLESSINGS?!?!?!?!?! LIFE IS SO GOOD :):):):):):):):):):):):):)
We also found a sweet new investigator OYMing con Antonio and he immediately said, I know what you're teaching is true and I'm going to ask God because only he can tell me. and I'm going to read your book and know for myself. SWEET!!!!!!
This area has so much potential!!!!!!! I love it!!!!!!!! :):) but I've loved wherever I've been (even though I've only had 2 areas hahahahhaha)
I have my new baby!!!! I'm officially a mom!!! hahaha surprise!!!! She's super cute. Her name is Hermana Hofheins. She's from PG and she works so hard. She's going to be an absolutely amazing missionary. She already is, but I know she'll just work so hard and do everything she can for the people. She has a lot of great ideas and is willing to help us out. Sometimes it's hard with Spanish for her, but she will get there soon. Spanish is kind of rough at the start, but soon, you can just talk all the time. We try to speak in Spanish all day to help her. I love it. It's kind of a treat when I get to speak in English now.
It's really cool how God answers prayers. I'm really trying to ingrain even more the importance of this message and how much everyone needs it. It's been incredible to see and feel, but really as I see people, I can't bear the thought of them not being able to be happy forever and live with Heavenly Father. I think about it in terms of all of you. How would I feel if we all weren't together in the Celestial Kingdom? I really couldn't handle it. Its the same for everyone. They all need it, they all have families, and everything they do right now will affect them and their opportunity to live in joy forever. I mean FOREVER. Do you realize how important it is that we do all we can so we can be happy FOR ETERNITY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? it's sooooo important. It's the most important thing that we could ever do. but I digress.
I love the mission. I love life. Sorry I didn't really write last week, but I hope this kind of makes up for it. Love you lots :):):):):):):):):)
oh my goodness I forgot to add. JORGE IS DOING SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):):):) he is so strong in the church. He wrote me a note thanking me for everything and how everyone is telling him he's a different person and he loves that. He wants to serve and mission and he is preparing right now to do that. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :):):):):):):):) he got to bless and pass the sacrament just a little bit ago and he is helping the elders and it makes me SO happy :):):):):):):
I forgot to mention, I got to push Elder Seal's face in cake. It was pretty fun :) love you all!!!
