13 January 2015

Hola mi familia! ¿Como estan? Estoy muy bien! Amo le CCM. Guess what!!! I have already given a lesson completely in Spanish without notes. Awesooooooome! I am not even joking. I somehow caught onto Spanish super fast. I feel really blessed. I am sure Heavenly Father is helping me with my languages right now! I do sometimes slip in some French words, but it`s close to Spanish so they understand.

I also got the opportunity to speak in Church Sunday.  They pick random people each week to speak and I got chosen, One of the Counselors asked me if I had studied Spanish before, but nope! You want to know something cool about that? I knew that I was going to speak. I just had this feeling and I was right. The Holy Ghost was definitely telling me I was going to have to prepare a good talk! haha, very cool! I enjoyed it and I actually wanted to give a talk because the more I practice the better I am!

I am working pretty hard. Seriously mi compañera and I finish meals fast and then go back and study. Spanish is pretty hard for her, so I am teaching her.  We go to class thirty minutes early and I teach her a concept. Then we stay thirty minutes later and I teach her another one every night. And then throughout the day, we just try to work on stuff.  I do work a lot though. Seriously 16 hours days. and I LOVE it!!! I get so excited to go study and learn and practice speaking Spanish.

Oh guess what. I have decided I love Mexico.  The city is crazy and loud but so bright and colorful and happy. I just look outside mi casa and see it and I fall in love all over again! I may want to live here when I am older! I am not even joking though.  Although I may want to live more in the suburbs of Mexico not the craziness of Mexico city.

Yesterday a random thing happened. Hermaña Whitehead and I were doing out service project when some guys started talking to us. they told us that Estaban (a guy who works in the kitchen) was going to teach them how to make legit Mexican Horchata.  and then they invited us to come! So we got to learn how to make it. It is delicious. So yummy. and now I have the recipe as well! bueno!! I can not wait to learn how to make other authentic Mexican dishes.  Yum!!

Perhaps I should tell you about my district.  Okay so there are Elder Wells and Elder Benolerao, Elder Graham and Elder Thomas, and Elder Pennington and Elder Osborn.  I love them all.  Elder Wells taught mi compañera, Hermaña Whitehead, and me about the friendzone, how to attract guys, and just a lot of other random things. Probably one of the funniest lessons I have ever had.  I am constantly laughing around them.

Oooooo guess what!! I know I say guess what all the time, but there are so many things I want to tell you!!! That is why this email is forever long. I am sure you are still reading this and thinking wow, Kasey is weird. But that means she is still herself! haha. I am so funny. Anyway, so I was kind of sick this week and so my district got super worried about me because we weren`t there early. They came over to our casa to give me a blessing just in case I needed it.  How sweet!! They are awesome.

Now a little more about mi compañera, Hermaña Whitehead.  She is fantastic. She is so sweet and easy to talk to and hard working.  It is crazy how we went to school together but weren`t really friends, and now we have the same mission call, and we are compañeras! We talk a lot about how God really wanted us to be friends :) I for real think that is true.  This may sound sappy, but she has already become one of my closest friends and I know we are going to keep in touch.  and we decided we are going to be compañeras in the field for forever. It will totally work out that way.  But really we better be compañeras in Texas!! Her abuela just passed away though.  She just found out about it.  I feel so sorry.    The only think I can do is be there for her and be a friend.  She is amazing.

I truly am SO happy here. I walk out of my casa everyday smiling and loving life.  It is so pretty here and awesome. Sometimes it is hard, but I know everything will work out if I have a good attitude.  I just know if I do what I can and be happy everything will be wonderful! I seriously can`t stop smiling.  My companion was so sweet and just said I am always happy and it helps her out when she is feeling done.  That made my day.  I want to be able to help others and bring them the same happiness that I feel!

Random insert: I will be sending pictures in a separate email. (See Below)

The Spirit is so strong here. Sometimes it is hard for me to notice it because it really is always with me.  It is probably why I am so happy.  The closer I am to the gospel, the closer the Spirit can be with me. I never want to lose it.  Guys, the Spirit is REAL and Heavenly Father loves all of us so much.  While I was helping my companion, I just felt this overwhelming love for her, and I know that is only a portion of the love that our Heavenly Father has.  I already feel love for investigadores and everyone I come into contact with.  It is a huge blessing and it will bless my life immensely.

Another thing I want to mention is service.  As I am helping mi compañera, I am so much happier. I am not focused on myself and I am able to accomplish more and be kinder.  I am definitely discovering a real love for serving and I am coming to love all whom I am serving.

I love you all so much!! You are amazing and wonderful. Miss you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
